Victoria Hughes

A native San Franciscan, Victoria received her early training at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music before being awarded a full scholarship to the prestigious Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. During her years in the Washington, DC and Baltimore areas she performed at all of the finest hotels, restaurants, and embassies as well as several orchestras.

Upon graduation, she was recruited to play for Princess Cruises, becoming the first harpist ever to play on this cruise line. She also performed for Norwegian Cruise Line, Cunard Cruise Line, and many others.

During her years on board ship, she perfected her unique talent for arranging well-known songs, developing an extensive repertoire drawn from classical, popular standards, love songs, jazz, contemporary pop, folk, swing, and even rock n' roll.

Victoria is well known for her performances around the Bay Area; she played for five years at the famous "Top of the Mark" at the Mark Hopkins Hotel as well as the Ritz-Carlton and Fairmont Hotels.

Victoria believes in playing music that people know and recognize, whether it is a classical piece, or a current pop hit. Victoria also believes that there's no point in playing if you can't be heard. A small, discreet, amplifier is brought to all events, indoors or out. Requests are always welcomed. Victoria owns two beautiful, gold, full-size concert harps.
