Whether it’s a popular Motown medley featuring “I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)”, Van Morrison’s ode to his “Brown Eyed Girl”, “Pick Up the Pieces” by the Average White Band, or the “Smooth” sounds of Santana, all the music is arranged and performed with the purpose of getting everyone on the dance floor, singing along and clapping their hands. Everyone will respond to Marvin Gaye’s suggestion, “Let’s Get it On”, a little slice of “Heaven” from Los Lonely Boys, or the O'Jays invitation to board the "Love Train". The Groove Kings honor successful Bay Area bands performing songs by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tower of Power and The Doobie Brothers. The legends of rock and soul are featured as well including Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations and The Beatles. Seventies disco favorites from KC and the Sunshine Band and Wild Cherry as well as some eighties "Philly Soul" will have everybody singing and dancing until the wee hours. Their ripping version of Sly and the Family Stone’s “Dance to the Music” pretty much states what The Groove Kings are all about.
