Opera Piccola
Opera Piccola, an educational theater company, serves people of all ages with little or no access to the arts. Through classes and performances they collaborate to discover, express and celebrate the deep voices of community and diverse cultures.
Since 1989, Opera Piccola has served over 500,000 children, youth, adults and families in libraries, senior centers, parks, malls, homeless shelters, and other accessible gathering places. Opera Piccola is among the first Bay Area companies to create interactive fusion operas, i.e. works that combine jazz and multicultural music. In this way, Opera Piccola takes the lead in what has become a trend with regional and national theater companies.
