Fred Ross

A native of San Francisco, Fred has been singing professionally since the age of 16. Some of his vocal accomplishments include: The Martin Luther King Story (made for TV), The Stuart Little Movie, TV and radio ads for BMW., Dole, and several dot-com companies. Fred has sung the National Anthem for the Associated Press, the Presidio Memorial Day Celebration (yearly), the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49’ers, and San Francisco Giants (Barry Bonds 600th home run at SBC Park), and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Fred has toured the U.S. and Europe with the legendary funksters Pee Wee Ellis and Fred Wesley (formerly of the James Brown Band). One of the tours resulted in a CD, Pee Wee Ellis: Live & Funky with Fred Wesley and Fred Ross. He has also toured as lead vocalist with The Family Stone Xperience. The band includes former member Rustee Allen on Bass who was with Sly for five years.

He has recorded with Aretha Franklin, whose CD A Rose is still A Rose went gold. Narada Michael Walden, members of Tower of Power, Santana, Frankie Beverley & Maze, Greg Rollie, Toto, Chaka Kahn and the Commodores are just some of the talents he has worked with.

Fred has release two CD’s on Strokeland Records. The first solo CD is Dignity. The second is The Law According to Fred Ross produced by Doc Kupka and Jeff Tamelier. Fred has a new release, singing the title track on Strokeland’s Bumped Up To First Class.
