Carey Frank
Originally from South Florida, Carey Frank is now living in Los Angeles, CA. He is fortunate to be an active musician, working as a soloist and with various other musicians, genres, and groups. He has worked with the likes of Marty Morell (drummer with Bill Evans), Ndugu Chancler (drummer with Michael Jackson and Weather Report), Marshall Tucker Band, Eric Marienthal, Jane Monheit, Munyungo Jackson, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Lenny Picket (SNL Music Director), T Lavitz (keyboardist from Dixie Dregs and Jefferson Starship), Martin Short, Dan Aykroyd, Josh Smith, Drake Bell, and Bob Mintzer. Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Carey had a residency with Cirque de Soleil and Walt Disney World. He also had the opportunity to travel to Nepal to teach and perform at the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory and traveled to New Dehli, India the following year to teach music clinics and perform.
Carey received his Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Piano Performance from the University of Central Florida and was a scholarship recipient from the Gold Coast Jazz Society and the Central Florida Jazz Society. He later received his Masters of Music in Jazz Studies at the University of Southern California, studying with Russell Ferrente (Yellowjackets), Alan Pasqua, and Peter Erskine. While completing the final semester of his Masters, Carey released his self-produced debut album, Keep Smiling, a #1 best seller on Amazon Music in Cool Jazz. The album is also available on iTunes, CD Baby, Spotify, and in physical copy.
Currently, Carey is an active Los Angeles and touring performing artist, recording artist, arranger, composer, and teacher.
