Bearcat Stringband

The Bearcat Stringband like to play Bluegrass and Old Time music with an old sound and a young attitude. The quartet has been making a name for themselves in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2013, perfecting the balance between keeping true to the musical traditions we all love, and throwing a rocking on-stage party.

The Bearcat Stringband features Rowan McCallister (mandolin, and clawhammer banjo), Robin Fischer (fiddle), Allegra Thompson (bass), and Ryan Finch (guitar). You can expect tasty harmony singing, hard hitting fiddle tunes, and a foot-stompin' good time. Some of the most memorable places the Bearcat Stringband has played include the CBA Father's Day Festival in Grass Valley - Vern's Stage, the Freight & Salvage (as part of the Berkeley Old Time Music Convention Spring Situation), Amnesia's Bluegrass Monday, Ashkenaz, and The Starry Plough.
