Michael Martinez

Michael Martinez is a San Francisco born, raised and based singer-songwriter and performer. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied with Grammy winners Kara DioGuardi & Enrique Gonzales, was mentored by Melissa Ferrick and even co-wrote with John Oates of Hall & Oates.

He moved to LA and wrote with a variety of artists, which is when he began penning his upcoming debut EP “anxious” (scheduled for release June 2023). Produced by Dan Gleyzer (credits include Meghan Trainor, BTS, Noah Cyrus) and co-produced by Martinez himself, “anxious” is a reflection of his time in LA and the coping mechanisms (or lack thereof) when faced with crippling anxiety.

He’s a veteran of the acclaimed Sofar Sounds community and has played over 75 shows across the country (and Canada!) since joining in October 2021. Since moving back home, Michael has starred in two critically-acclaimed theatre productions, “For the Record: Bratpack” and the brand new rock musical “Coming Soon.” Michael has also landed multiple residencies across the city including Shack15, Manny’s in the Mission, Beacon Grand and is especially excited for his upcoming two month long residency at Lyon & Swan, every Thursday in May through June.

He is part of a new folk-duo Lonely Parrots, with American Idol & Songland alum, Max Embers. In addition to their joint music project, they are particularly thrilled to share their latest project, MORF (Music On Regenerative Farms). The MORF initiative aims to bring music concerts to sustainable, nature-focused projects -permaculture, urban community gardens, rewilding and reforestation projects (you name it!) - in an effort to raise awareness, bring regenerative farming closer to people, and build community through joy (music + food + nature =joy).
